Mindsets-Behaviors

All students are valuable and deserve to be treated with respect.
All students have the right to participate in the school counseling program.
All students have the right to have a state certified school counselor deliver the counseling program.
The school counselor advocates for all students.
The school counselor collaborates with stakeholders (teachers, staff, parents, administrators, district personnel, community members and others) to help aid in student success.
The school counselor abides by the code of ethics set by American School Counselor Association (ASCA).
The counseling program respects all students' and families' values, beliefs, sexual orientation/expression and cultural background.
Data collection and analysis drive the counseling program goals for promoting student achievement.
The school counseling program should be comprehensive in scope, developmental in nature, and preventative in design in the areas of: social/emotional, academic, and career.
